Question: What is the policy for visitors and overnight guests?
Answer: Your family and friends are always welcome at Hartsfield Village. Overnight guests may stay in your apartment, or you can reserve a private guest room for a nominal fee.
Question: If I decide to live at Hartsfield Village, how soon could I move in?
Answer: That all depends on the type of residence that best suits your needs. An Independent Apartment Home may be reserved for a move-in at a later date. You are invited to schedule an appointment to learn more details about Hartsfield Village and the various residences available. For more information, contact us.
Question: Is the entrance fee refundable?
Answer: Yes. You have the written assurance that 90%-95% of your entrance fee is refundable to you or your estate. Question: What is the policy for having pets?
Answer: Pets, including small dogs, are most definitely welcome. Our counselors can provide detailed information regarding registration and pet care policies.
Question: What does the monthly service fee cover?
Answer: Your monthly service fee covers all utilities (except telephone and satellite TV), grounds maintenance, weekly housekeeping and linen laundry, a daily meal, underground parking, and/or scheduled transportation for shopping or appointments, and recreational activities, and an emergency call system. Question: What are the entrance requirements?
Answer: To become a resident of Hartsfield Village, you must be at least 62 years and able to live independently. Refundable Deposit Entrance fees vary according to the size of the unit you select, and most residents use the proceeds from the sale of their home to provide the entrance fee. Question: How are health-related services handled?
Answer: Should you ever require Assisted Living, Memory Support, or Skilled Nursing, while a resident of Hartsfield Village, you will have priority and a reduced fee under the provided long-term care benefit. Question: Is Hartsfield Village in a desirable location?
Answer: Although the spacious 38 acre campus community feels refreshingly removed from city life, Hartsfield Village is conveniently located in the greater Chicago Southland, in Munster, Indiana, with easy access to the express highway system. Munster is home to a wide network of medical facilities, including Community Hospital, the sponsor of Hartsfield Village. Also in Munster, you can take advantage of entertainment opportunities such as The Center for Visual and Performing Arts – host to the Northwest Indiana Arts Association’s Bachman Gallery, the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, and several outstanding plays and musicals each year. Plus, our superb Munster location is convenient to restaurants, shopping, places of worship, golf courses, and parks.
Question: How are emergencies handled?
Answer: Each apartment home is equipped with an emergency call and response system. Hartsfield Village residents can call for help anytime, day or night. The response person is a nurse. Additionally, security personnel are in the building and on the campus through the night.
