Question: How is admission to Nursing Care arranged?
Answer: Most residents are admitted after a hospital stay to engage in additional rehabilitative services. With your permission, the hospital discharge planner will contact Hartsfield Village to assist with the referral to Nursing Care. A visit to see our program and talk with our Admissions staff is encouraged. Individuals who are at home or at other facilities are encouraged and welcome to call and visit.
Question: Medicare pays for skilled nursing services. What are "skilled services"?
Answer: Skilled services are primarily those services associated with rehabilitation, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. There can be other skilled services that are associated with nursing, such as a feeding tube. Be aware that not only does Medicare require skilled services for a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) admission, they also require a pre-SNF hospital stay of at least 3 nights (hospital admission not observation).
Question: How large is Nursing Care at Hartsfield Village?
Answer: Nursing Care can accommodate 112 residents.
Question: May visitors eat a meal with the resident?
Answer: Family and friends are always welcome to visit, and yes, a guest meal may be purchased.
Question: Can pets visit?
Answer: Yes. Pet visitors should be registered through the Activity Department, and this includes proof of up-to-date immunizations. Pets must be leashed or crated at all times.
